If yes, this is your opportunity to join a high-performing team delivering exceptional workforce management capabilities.What this role is:As a Staff Software Engineer in Test, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality solutions for our Genesys Cloud Platform. This position offers the unique opportunity to define and implement innovative testing strategies while leading a global effort to ensure exceptional user experiences.What this role isn’t:This role goes beyond executing tests or maintaining pipelines. It requires a comprehensive approach to quality, including manual, automated, performance, and accessibility testing. You will collaborate across multiple teams globally to ensure a stable platform and deliver exciting new features.What you’ll bring to the table:We are looking for someone who is strong technically, but also a skilled communicator. You’ll coordinate with talented peers to identify risks and design solutions to mitigate them. After learning our product and process, you will contribute code to a shared automated testing project that includes tests executed daily and in multiple deployment pipelines. You will recommend and prototype new tools and techniques to help us optimize and evolve our processes. You will apply your skills to guide junior team members and provide input and feedback to peers.Some details about what you’ll do:

• Participate in charter meetings and collaborate with Product Managers and Developers to understand new feature intent, scope and roadmap
• Review design and architecture and evaluate risks and the scope of testing required
• Develop a test plan and strategy with delivery team to ensure appropriate test coverage
• Estimate the testing effort required to deliver new features
• Design and implement new automated tests for APIs, UIs or Mobile Apps
• Coordinate exploratory testing and participate in Bug hunts
• Maintain automated test jobs by triaging failed automated test executions in our Jenkins pipelines and report defects or make fixes to test code
• Participate in Design and Code Reviews to provide feedback to other engineers and improve our testing framework

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

• 8+ years of experience in professional software testing, with a focus on automation, scalability, and performance in cloud-based or distributed systems

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally with product, development, and UX teams

• Demonstrated experience in technical leadership, including mentoring engineers, driving quality initiatives, and influencing architectural decisions to improve product reliability

• Experience with:
• Object oriented programming with Java or Kotlin
• Jenkins or equivalent CI/CD tools
• UI Testing tools such as Playwright or Selenium
• Test frameworks such as TestNG or JUnit
• REST API testing (functional and automation)
• Build tools such as Maven or Gradle
• Version control such as git

Desirable Skills:

• Proficiency in leveraging advanced AI tools, including prompt engineering, for test case generation, anomaly detection, and optimizing testing processes
• Mobile testing (iOS and Android) – Espresso, XCUI, Appium
• Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) such as EC2, S3 and Lambda
• Experience with Sumo Logic, New Relic or other monitoring tools
• Experience with accessibility and compliance testing (HIPAA, GDPR, PCI)
