Job description

Steel FabricatorOur client is seeking an experienced Steel Fabricator to join their team. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic fabrication environment, producing steel grating panels and industrial handrails to the highest standards. You will be responsible for reading and interpreting basic fabrication drawings, operating steelworking equipment, and ensuring all work complies with industry regulations and safety standards.Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble steel grating panels and industrial handrails.
• Read and interpret basic fabrication drawings.
• Operate steelworking equipment such as band saws, ironworkers, overhead cranes, and oxy-acetylene cutting equipment.
• Maintain high safety and quality standards in line with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
• Ensure compliance with British and European standards for fabrication.
• Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
• Assist with general workshop duties as required.
• Participate in company shutdown periods as part of the annual leave schedule.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a steel fabrication environment.
• Valid welding certificates (6mm fillet welding).
• Ability to read and understand basic fabrication drawings.
• Experience operating steelworking equipment.
• Forklift driving experience/licence (counterbalance or Combi-lift) is advantageous.
• Strong commitment to health and safety regulations.
• Must be fluent in English with good communication skills.
