DevOps Systems EngineerWould you like to shape the future of our global cloud infrastructure and operations teams?Are you a DevOps Engineer looking for an innovative change?About our TeamDevOps is a key position within the Technology, Infrastructure, and Operations group. The incumbent in this role will play a critical part in developing a Centre of Excellence responsible for delivering shared solutions for infrastructure operations across our estate. To fill this role successfully, candidate will need fundamental knowledge and interest in cloud technologies, DevOps, and infrastructure automation, as well as a basic understanding of a broad set of modern scripting and OO programming languages.About the RoleWe are looking for a passionate and eager DevOps System Engineer who has a keen interest in advanced DevOps areas such as automation and cloud hosting. You will join our team to help us develop and enhance our hosting capabilities, finding ways to automate where possible, improve performance, ensure reliability, and leverage our cloud services.Responsibilities

  • Configuring, deploying, monitoring, and supporting hosting of applications in AWS and Alibaba cloud, ensuring the use of best practices on our soft infrastructure assets
  • Ensuring optimal construction and implementation of CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with all relevant local and central parties, the deployment and monitoring strategy for all services we run in AWS and on-premise.
  • Developing and improving monitoring and infrastructure automation in close collaboration with Central IT functions.
  • Working as part of an agile team, and in close collaboration with Quality, Release and Product teams delivering continuous improvements in customer outcomes.
  • Working with the Support and Development teams to troubleshoot, diagnose and rectify issues with hosting Pure through the applied integration of infrastructure, software, and software delivery best practices.

Requirements

  • Experience of using modern scripting and OO programming languages as a contributing member within an agile dev squad.
  • Knowledge of deploying, configuring, monitoring and supporting Linux systems.
  • Awareness of impacts of architectural/deployment/automation choices.
  • Positive attitude to cross-functional teams across the stack – back-end/front-end and DevOps.
  • Positive and constructive approach with an emphasis on collaboration and good execution.
  • Experience with some of the following technologies/tools: Ansible, Terraform, Tomcat, Apache HTTP, Kubernetes/EKS, Elasticsearch, Logstash, GitHub, New Relic, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Bash, Symfony, Docker, Python, Jenkins.
