Working close with both Sales, R&D and the customers. He/She will drive projects to maximize the business within key segments for the customer group.Responsibilities:
- Increase and growth of earnings; the associated development of sales strategies and implementing them in close co-operation with the technical departments and sales responsible. Helps achieve or exceed sales and margin goals
- Ensures customer quality and service expectations are met.
- Supports customers with plant audits, trouble-shooting, general technical support and process development.
- Eliminates or reduces customer complaints.
- Helps increase volume growth.
- Independently drive development and implementation projects together with local sales and Key Account management to grow sales and profit.
- Communicates competitive information, new products and selling issues to the team
- Communicates extended product knowledge in wood technology.
- Attends coatings seminars and trade shows pertinent to sales/marketing.
- Manages product trials at designated customer facilities.
- Maintains contact with laboratory on current technical issues.
- Assists with equipment installation and various line or equipment modifications/adjustments.
- Conducts technical training seminars at customers’ facilities.
- Evaluates product complaints and decides the best way to resolve problems.
- Assists customers in preparing paint specifications to meet product applications.
- Troubleshoots on-line technical problems such as correcting batches and formulation of products.
- Advises customers of product line changes and improvements.
- Maintains expertise in product finishes equipment use and surface preparation.
- Assists customers with product inventory control/re-ordering.
- Trains customers on product knowledge and application methods.
- Maintains customer technical service issues on file for follow-up.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Product development, possibly with the technical departments of the Group.
- The perception of the interests of the company at trade shows.
- Regular exchange of ideas with Group companies.
Qualifications:
- Higher level education in a related field
- Good understanding of, and experience in industrial wood coatings market
- Technical support experience to major accounts (including auto-lines) in the coatings sectors
- Good basic knowledge of coatings technology and curing processes
- Experience with robotic, autospray, vacuum and roller coating application systems
- Ability to hand-spray all major coatings technologies.
- Preferred: Experience with managing complex technical projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; English.
- Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint,.
- Familiarity with various paint and coatings technologies.
