ICEYE is a place where your development, your growth and your success is a priority.What is the role?ICEYE is looking for a proactive Trade Compliance & Freight Forwarding Manager to ensure smooth, compliant, and efficient international movement of our satellite components and subsystems. This role combines deep trade compliance knowledge with hands-on freight forwarding and logistics execution for shipments across all current and future ICEYE locations, including Finland, Poland, Spain, USA, Middle East and Japan.You will be the key point of contact for managing freight forwarding operations, customs brokerage, and licensing for export-controlled items, while developing processes that balance compliance and logistical efficiency.The Trade Compliance Manager:

• Manage end-to-end international freight forwarding for satellite components, subsystems, tools, and equipment – from shipment planning to delivery.
• Select, negotiate, and manage freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics service providers to ensure reliable and cost-effective transportation solutions.
• Ensure full import and export compliance for all shipments, including adherence to EU/Finnish customs regulations and US EAR/ITAR requirements.
• Prepare and manage necessary shipping and customs documentation, including export licenses, shipping instructions, supplier end-user statements, Intrastat reports, and import/export declarations.
• Oversee customs clearance processes and proactively resolve any issues with local customs and border authorities.
• Manage inward processing relief (IPR) and other special customs procedures to optimize duties and taxes.
• Define and continuously improve guidelines, processes, and roles for compliant and efficient international logistics.
• Conduct regular internal audits to ensure shipping and customs procedures align with applicable regulations.
• Identify risks in shipping and customs operations, recommend mitigations, and provide expert consultation to internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Stay up to date with global trade compliance and logistics regulations and share knowledge within the organization.
• Deliver training and guidance to relevant teams to build awareness of trade compliance and freight forwarding best practices.
• Lead or support logistics and trade compliance projects, including new route design, shipping process improvements, and supplier onboarding.
• Fostering and enabling close co-operation with internal stakeholders, especially ICEYE legal

Requirements:Required:

• Solid knowledge of global trade compliance and customs regulations, including EU/Finnish import/export rules and US EAR/ITAR.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience managing international freight forwarding operations, including air, sea, and road shipments.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, International Trade, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in freight forwarding, trade compliance, or international logistics.
• Proven ability to manage complex shipments for high-value or sensitive cargo.
• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into practical logistics processes.
• Independent, self-driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Proven ability to manage people in logistic environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred:

• Proficiency in Finnish
• Previous experience in shipping of high-tech components.
