Our value proposition is our customer service, technical underwriting and willingness to find optimal solutions for our clients.In this role of Specialty Lines, Financial Risks Underwriter you will report to the Product Leader – Credit & Political Risk, Zurich & SingaporeSpecific job responsibilities include:
- Execute our underwriting strategy in line with PartnerRe goals and objective.
- Build, develop and manage client and broker relationships as assigned in our EMEA operating geography in order to generate target return on capital deployed for Surety, Credit and Political Risk
- Support SLFR senior underwriters, Product Leaders and Business Unit Leader
- Handle results-oriented underwriting by helping develop a technically sound and profitable portfolio. This includes pricing in coordination with Pricing Actuaries and ensuring that all underwriting actions and decisions are properly documented
- Develop and execute strategy in line with overall Financial Risks objectives
- Provide a relevant market presence and continue to build the PartnerRe brand with key clients and brokers
- Support and foster a culture of agility, high performance, client centricity and solution- oriented decision making
- Represent PartnerRe at market events, underwriting file reviews and workshops
- Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and procedures.
- Support portfolio management and exposure/risk accumulations according to corporate guidelines.
- Interact effectively with other departments, namely: Actuarial, Global Accounts, Claims, Reserving, Technical Accounting, Legal & Compliance and Underwriting Office as necessary
- Handle administrative tasks, including review of contractual documents and endorsement requests, data input, maintain data quality of portfolio, etc.
- Analysis and monitoring of market trends, economic and legal developments and assess impacts to PartnerRe
Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study
- Proven track record and a minimum of 2-5 years of reinsurance/insurance underwriting experience in trade credit insurance, political risk insurance and/or surety
- Portfolio management and optimization experience with demonstrated ability to execute strategy in line with SLFR risk appetite
- Strong understanding of market trends (preferably EMEA scope), and application of such to identify improvement opportunities
- Experience working in a diverse and multicultural environment
- Solid commercial, negotiation and communication skills
- Proven ability to deliver on defined targets and goals
- Understanding of treaty pricing and reinsurance structuring
- Self-motivated attitude with a high level of energy
- Proficient skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Salesforce
- Adaptable, open for new ideas and technology
- Willingness to travel (10 – 15%)
- Other duties as assigned.
