Write the next chapter of your ABB story.Your role and responsibilitiesABB operates a decentralized model, where Business Areas drive all deals. At the same time, corporate team is responsible for strong M&A governance and oversight of cross-business deals and/or divestments. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual who will lead the M&A governance topic ensuring an aligned approach to M&A within all ABB Business Areas. Key responsibilities include: 1. Group-wide M&A governance • Owner of the Group M&A policies and procedures • Proactively ensuring constant improvement of the M&A process • Maintaining collaboration, ensuring alignment and leading the community of practice across M&A Leaders in ABB Business Areas • Building alignment with Leaders of M&A functional workstreams: finance, legal, IT, HR, real estate, tax etc. • Implementing a recently approved bolt-on assessment methodology together with Business Areas 2. Challenger and advisor to CFO and CEO on the bolt-on deals • Reviewing business cases for the deals that require approvals by CFO, CEO and BoD, challenging the deal economics, synergies and valuation assumptions 3. Project manager of cross-BA or Group-wide transactions • Leading potential large transactions at the Group portfolio level, as applicable 4. Manager of the incoming opportunities pipeline together with businesses • In charge of filtering and distributing the inbound opportunity pipeline to Businesses, as appropriate 5. Maintaining relationships with advisors / investment banks • Keeping the dialogue and gate-keeping relationships with ABB external advisors, ensuring productive conversations market trends, valuations, portfolio questions and the potential dealsQualifications for the role

  • Minimum 10 years of extensive experience in M&A transactions
  • Proven record of building and understanding valuation and financial models
  • Presenting results to senior leadership, incl. EC members and CFO/CEO
  • Communicating in a concise and clear manner towards senior management
  • Ability to lead project teams and empowering the team to deliver
  • Ability to quickly and holistically understand information to form conclusions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
