Job description

Location: No. 4 Augustine Street, Galway No 4 Youth Service aims to enhance the quality of young people’s lives by providing an effective and holistic response to a wide variety of issues pertaining to young people aged 13 – 25 years. The focus is to improve the health and well-being of young people through implementing programmes and activities that have an emphasis on intervention and prevention in a range of areas including, homelessness, education, physical and mental health and employability. The successful candidate will be placed within the youth work team and gain experience in working with vulnerable young people aged 17-25 via our drop-in centre. Build positive and professional relationship with young people Provide opportunities for young people within our target group to connect with each other in a safe and fun environment. Develop and implement activities that promote social integration and peers support with the youth work team. Provide opportunities for young people to develop communication skills, confidence and agency, resilience, relationships and emotional intelligence in both one to one and group settings with the youth work team. Assist the team to provide opportunities for young people to develop and improve life skills in both one to one and group settings. Develop and implement health promoting activities to raise awareness and meet the needs of young people with the youth work team.
