With revenues in excess of $30 billion and over 4,500 employees worldwide, World Fuel Services offers its customers a value-added outsource service for supply, quality control, logistical support and price risk management.World Fuel Services Corporation is a publicly listed company (NYSE: INT), headquartered in Miami, Florida and currently ranked # 92 on the Fortune 500 List.POSITION SUMMARYThe Land EMEA Supply & Trading team is responsible for the sourcing, supply, scheduling and price risk management of a range of different products and instruments covering physical and financial power, gas, carbon, elcerts, GOOs, iRECs, VERS and CERs. The team comprises derivatives and physical traders and schedulers across a number of desks covering specific geographies.Within this team, a position has arisen for a GOO trader on the Sustainability Desk. This role will have responsibility for managing an existing GOO portfolio through timely and effective trade execution, as well as supporting new business growth, inventory management and time spread optimisation. The successful candidate will be accountable for the development and execution of trading strategies in line with Sustainability Desk objectives.Success in this role hinges on the ability to understand customer needs, provide effective and timely trade execution, deep understanding of environmental markets, and to collaborate seamlessly across a highly matrixed organization with various teams.While this role is primarily execution-focused it also requires engagement with counterparties and producers as well as internal stakeholders. This role will have autonomy to manage challenging requirements, with support when required from the wider Supply & Trading team.A successful candidate will be self-driven and possess strong communication, numerical and trade execution capabilities and influencing skills. The candidate be results-driven and will consistently be looking for new revenue generating opportunities whilst remaining with Market Risk parameters.We operate in a fast-paced, high energy and positive environment. We are looking for a new team member who will thrive in this setting and help further enhance our culture and skillsets.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT AREN’T LIMITED TO:The successful candidate will be part of the EMEA trading desk and responsibilities will include

  • Execution of trades in the bilateral markets for guarantees of origin.
  • Sourcing to match demand for relevant certificates in the different markets
  • Build and maintain a network of bilateral counterparts
  • Staying up to date on developments in the environmental markets
  • Working closely with tech support team to deliver IT capability to ensure smooth trade entry and fulfilment
  • Support the key account organisation in sales prospects and represent the business as subject matter expert in customer meetings
  • Maintain audit trail for different international renewable energy audits and protocols
  • Production of customer reports and bespoke reports to key stakeholders
  • Support the leadership team in representations to senior teams

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE:Education Required:

  • Bachelors degree in related field ( Economics, Finance, Business Management, Maths)
  • Masters degree or equivalent relevant industry experience preferred

Specific Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • Must be a self-starter, a team player and driven.
  • Comfortable working in a virtual environment across globally dispersed teams.
  • Extensive experience in environmental markets preferably from a trading perspective and excellent knowledge of the GO market in particular.
  • Demonstrable experience of interaction with exchanges, brokers, counterparties and registries to support trading activity and will have deep understanding of how to build p&l.
  • Demonstrable experience of utilization of ETRM platforms
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Work well under pressure- be calm and confident and able to respond calmly under duress.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexible enough to be able to respond to demands at short notice
  • Knowledgeable enough to be able to prioritise on a daily basis.
